Inspired by Superboy's wonderful Vickers Vedette Multi Purpose Corvette http://www.shipbucket.com/forums/viewto ... =13&t=5696.

I designed my own (well modified his).

I'm not going to comment on electronics equipment as I don't feel competent enough, but I'm somewhat concerned about below-deck penetration of the main gun and wether it isn't moved too far forward.
As for the air defence: perhaps an Aspide launcher on top of hangar could be nice, but then the area would be rather cramped, unless the mast and smokestack were to be moved forward (which is something easily done on a drawing, but could potentially raise issues about internal arrangements related to general realism of the design).

RE eswube's comment on gun position:

the oto 76 is quite compact so I doubt that is an real problem :P the hull should be able to take it, with some modification to the construction that is.

I was thinking something smaller to fit, more like Simbad Launcher for Mistral Missile ? would that be to late date wise what else would work (stinger or blowpipe ?) ?

But really I think this ships would end up as 'fitted for but not with' both the SAM and SSMs (and probably not carry that many working torps ether due to cost).

I think blowpipe would be a very realistic and fitting addition. My only caveat is that would be a very tight squeeze for the Lynx, and I think a Wasp or MD500 ASW would be a better fit.

i think he's used my idea from my Au design of a retractable hanger so lynx is fine.

Yes I measured it off both shippy2013s (hope its ok do you want a credit or is it a part ?) and got the lynx off the type 42 (same length flight deck).

no credit needed the hight is directly off of the type 22's in the archive, as for length not including the retractabe part which needs to be able to extend over your desired aircraft you just need space for stores, tools and mabye some spares but it depends if you want to just protect the helo from just the elements or be able to fuly support it......

if you look at my Neptune class i hopefully allowed enough space to hold extra stores for the helo and possibe light maintenance tools any thing else would be done on another larger support ship or on land.....

Thanks, yes my Multi Purpose Corvette is designed to look like a FFG mainly for navy's that cant really afford a real FFG ;)

So it has all the toys but in reality I don't think it will really use or have them in working order most of the time.....

It is fitted for a Lynx, that it can store in a retractable hangar with some extra space for stores forward (with the torpedoes under the hatch for easy reloading) but I don't see it being used for high intensity ops in the N Atlantic ;). I think a helicopter will help with policing duties that will occupy 99% of its time and a hangar will look after the Lynx a bit in the weather and more than offset the cost.

I have been looking at light SAMs thinking blowpipe on hangar roof (but that gets in the way of exhaust fumes but cant think where else to put it ?), not that I think blowpipe adds much. Was it any good ? (but I suppose it looks like a SAM for the sales broacher ;) )

Oh that's my fault I didn't notice the retractable part.
I would put blow pipe on the deck where the life boat and life raft are being stored. There should be enough space for one on each side for good all around coverage. IRRC the blow pipe wasn't any better than any other 70s MANPAD and its combat history seems to indicate that it wasn't very effective past the occasional helicopter. Hanger mounted quad Aspid might be a better idea.
