Shipbucket

Been fiddling around with something else, this time the French SIGINT/ELINT ship Dupuy de Lome. So far, just the basic outline, haven't filled in any of the hull or superstructure yet, but I thought I ought post this because I have a few questions I hope somebody may have answers for.

1.) OK, silly question. The only image I could find showing the underwater portion had a couple a things near the bow which look like bow thrusters, but I cannot think of why a ship of this class might have those? Can anybody make out what they may be, or have another image of the bow. I couldn't turn anything up with Bing or Google image searches.


2.) Silly question 2. ports and windows in the hul and superstructure are the same blue as the con, right?

ok, enough dumb questions for now. Anyhow, any suggestions, recomendations or ideas are welcomed (with the exception of blowing up my computor to prevent further idiocy)

almost all ships being built today have bow thruster. from 7 meters and up to (unlimited size) some ship use to have an Azipod under the hull in addition to the bow thruster.
the colors of the windows is the same wherever you are!

OK, I believe I may have just revealed my ancientness in not knowing that. Having studied WW1 and WW2 ships for so long, I am really behind the curve in playing catch-up on modern systems. Thanks for the info!

Having spent several years in the army (I know, being an amateur naval historian, and both my parents having been in the Navy and my Grandpa having been a Marine I guess that makes me somewhat of a traitor ) I fully understand that "No plan survives contact with the enemy", which in drawing terms can be translated as "No drawing survives contact with a good start". lol

But I shall plug along anyhow.

For some reason (inability? senility?) I'm having difficulties with the prop shaft. No matter what I do, it just doesn't seem to come out right. One of them looked like, how can I say this... a big bunch of red broccoli. Any suggestions on a good way to do them?
