I suppose I should have split this thread up ages ago,but it's a bit late now.Has any one got any good pics of inside these hull recesses.I have had to wing it a bit for lack of reference and make reasonable guesses. :?

 Yeah it's the perpetual problem with these. My best estimate on this one is the two box like structures just before and aft of the island. If anyone has any more pics or info it would be useful.

What are the boxes on the rear of the flight deck? I have never seen them on a design are they to stop the aircraft from rolling off the deck?
Excellant work as always btw

Thanks Trojan.I believe they are windbreaks as someof these ships had no hanger and was stored on deck.

Yeah, the Merchant Aircraft Carriers were basically a cargo ship that they slapped a flight deck on top of. They weren't even converted as much as a CVE. They could only carry 3-4 aircraft.

On that note, if it was converted from a tanker, the engine room is probably towards the stern, so the funnels may be at the rear edge of the flight deck where that dark smudge on the picture is. I've seen a few pics of CVEs and MACs like that.

Great work, as usual. I Love all your carriers.

Thanks travestytrav25.Right I think Iv'e solved the problem of where the funnel goes and it looks like I have inadvertantly drawn Rapana too.So a bit of work still to do.
