It would be interesting to see most of the class get a full rebuild but one ship has its middle turret removed and replaced with more boilers and turbines for greater speed...

Removing Q turret and barbette would be possible but the internal reworking necessary convert that space into engine rooms or boiler rooms would be very expensive. Removing a turret = loss of firepower though and with American and Japanese ships shipping more guns and Italians looking at 9x15in ships and French moving to quad turrets, I'm sure their Lordships would want to retain that firepower, even if Q turret has poor arcs.
I see no reason why a mixture of QEs and QVs wouldn't be rebuilt. The main constraints are dock space, availability of materials, availability of the ships and money. There was no real plan with the 1930s rebuild programme, as ships came up they were worked on, so a mix of QEs and QVs is likely (more so than the mix of QEs and Rs and the latter were inferior ships).
Anyhow, I'd like to see whatever Karle comes up with!
