Interesting design. Follow the others' suggestions mentioned earlier, but my advice is that even if you want to enlarge the wing, stay away from six engines. IIRC, the GE90 can power a 747 by itself, so 4 comparable engines should do fine here. There is no need for 6 IMHO.

Ok, unfortunately real-life commitments pulled me away from working on this project but I've finally been able to sit down and work on it. Here's the 797 with the enlarged wing. I hope I did this right.

It sure looks feasible; which begs the question, why Boeing never went down this route, banking instead on the 787.

fact is, boeing originally took this path. the original boeing 747 looked just like this. but some researcher said that they could never fill this entire plane with passengers, and they redesigned the hull to be an very large freighter type. the hull shape stayed like that when they changed it back to full passenger design....

Money just isn't there for the market such a plane would target. Klag would actually know more, as it is tangentially related to his schooling.
