All heartedly agree Bombhead, and that is exactly the reason for doing them.

Um, 1) This drawing is in the archives already and 2) Olympic actually was quite reliable...yes, she had a few collisions but other than yearly overhauls rarely saw her builder's yards. After her last refit in 1933, she emerged from the yards almost like new, and on her final voyage to Jarrow (in 1935, not 1936) her Chief Engineer reported her engines were running as good as ever.

From France: the ss El Mansour, was built in 1932 for a service between France and the ports of the Atlantic coast of Morocco as far as Dakar. The ship was sunk in WW2, and at the war's end was raised, repaired and put back in service. The ship was changed by the removal of her aft dummy funnel and some changes to the front superstructure.

Nice looking ship, I really do like her profile. Reminds me to a degree of the Georgic with that stern superstructure.

Another ship from France, this time from the Comagnie de Navigation Paquet, built in 1949 for the Marseilles to North Africa service. The ship had a small passenfers capacity, only 56, and had a slightly different sister in the Azemmour. Both ships were sold in 1968 to Constantine S. Efthymiadis, Piraeus.
