Amazing job! The only thing missing from the 1947 version is the ship's name in lights like Normandie's...the Ile had that too. If you need pictures of it, I can get you a couple.

According to my sources the illuminated ship's name was after 1956 (there is a photo of Ile de France going to the aid of the striken Andrea Doria, and she did not had it than). I have also seen a picture dated 1957 which had the illuminated ship's name.
Any way I will be happy to have these pictures.

I've found some references that might require some corrections to the drawings. It appears that the switch from three to two funnels involved more than just removing the third funnel. It looks like the remaining two were replaced with wider funnels with the new second funnel being further aft that the original. Also the black trim along the bow was brought up to make her resemble Normandie.

Had edited the images of the Ile de France, especially the one of her in 1947.

Superb drawings Novice. You can't beat these old liners for style, so much more interesting than the floating Majorca hotels of nowadays. ;)
