Very nice. I am thoroughly enjoying these drawings. Ferries are cool. I like ferries.

Thanks... I'm not sure if I got the prop shaft right... the drawing I was working from was not clear... just a bundle of pixels so I don't know if if the shaft goes clean into the hull or into a larger structure.

Greetings Charybdis!

I'm liking your MV Normandie. I posted this drawing a while ago, but missed the upload to the main site, I hope you don't mind me posting it here...

Also, I never got round to correcting the lifeboats

Jabba, your welcome to post such a magnificent drawing here, even though its not strictly a ferry of Portsmouth ;) We could expand to cross channel ferries.

The shading on the upper deck glass panels are exquisit!

I like your bow thrusters... I think my first attempt can be improved on. The drawing for MV Normandie doesn't show a stabilizer although I'm pretty sure a ship of this size would have one. If anybody has any sources for the underwater hull of the Normandie, I would be much obliged.

Portsmouth to Le Havre. This is the Pride of Portsmouth, ex Olau Britannia. Built in 1989 she joined the P&O fleet in 1994 along with her sister Olau Hollandia. In 2002, in high winds, she collided with the Type 23 frigate HMS St Albans, which was moored on Fountain Lake Jetty in Portsmouth Harbour causing extensive damage to the newly commissioned frigate and a wee scratch on the Pride.

She retired from service in 2005, was bought by SNAV and was renamed MS SNAV Lazio.
