An let's not forget how they "screamed". I myself cannot fathom that. When I was younger I used to spend my summer vacation on the beach, and we were not much far from Pratica di Mare, an airbase south of Rome.. Every single day just past noon or early in the afternoon one of the old 707 tankers the Aeronautica had (before they replaced them with 767) used to circle above the beach at low elevation for training. Those engines didn't made the thunderous roar of a fighter, but their "scream" was not less deafening. And those were the JT3D turbofans, the earlier turbojets were even louder!

Between 1960 and 1971 Pan-am operated a total of 20 Douglas DC-8s: 19 DC-8-32 and a single DC-8-62.

N811PA was delivered to the airline in late august 1960, named Jet Clipper Pacific Trader, and flew with Pan-Am until october 1968 when it was sold to United Airlines. During the next 17 years the airframe changed ownership another six times before being scrapped in 1985.
N1803 had been originally delivered new to Braniff Airways in 1967. Pan-Am leased the aircraft between 1970 and 1971 before returning it to its owner. The plane kept flying with Braniff until its bankrupcy and was then purchased by Hawaiian Airlines in 1983, which kept it in serice for only two years however. Converted into a freighter the airframe went to Arrow Air which then leased it to Cargosur. Returned to Arrow Air, the plane was ultimately retired sometime after 1993.

With this last entry all jet-aircraft types operated by Pan-Am are now featured on the board.

The Brazilian Embraer KC-390. It's the 2nd prototype. This airplane has several modifications in colors and markings.

This aircraft was already drawn by IndiaJuliet but it is not accessible (Photobucket), and the old drawing was based on the 2008 project, modified in 2010. It's based in real photos.

An update of the Douglas DC-8 blanks, from the -10 to the -50 series.

The super-60s and -70s might take me more time...
