Yorktown had a large black "Y" painted on the side of her stack
This was in 1940 when she took part in Fleet Problem XXI, that will be the next post.

I've added a couple of devastators to the deck.
Thanks for the info. My source was vague.

I've updated the Enterprise airwing and includes TBD Devastators, SBD Dauntless, Grumman F3F and Brewster Buffalos. I've also detailed the ships boats on the outboard of the island. Last remaining job is the detail for the directors, which I've had trouble obtaining decent sources. Currently working the other Yorktown drawings.

That looks excellent Charybdis.

Those boats do look better than the placeholders you had.

The USN aviation history info I have indicates that the SBD-1's were all
issued to the U.S. Marine Corps in 1940, and the USN did not receive any
SBD's until 1941, when the SBD-2 was issued to the carrier air groups.
I believe that the correct dive bombers for 1940 would be the BT-1's.
There are color photos of these on the Enterprise available on the
internet from LIFE magazine.
