Stunning work guys, the Swedish TSR.2 just looks brilliant. The Su-100M is an excellent idea too.

Abstract:

The F-5 is based on a real proposal to fit the F-5 with an F125 in place of the two J85s. Also features the flatter F-20 profile nose and larger LEXs that the Taiwanese have on their F-5s.
The Typhoon is well, a Typhoon. Resplendent in that loveliest of colours Gunship Grey
The A-29B is again in the Gunship Grey scheme for imaginative purposes more than anything else.
Finally, seeing as there is some sort of vogue for patrol aircraft this week a colonial Nimrod. DC-8 in final converted form complete with CFM-56s, SlLAR, IRST an MX-20Di and other goodies such as SATCOM, MAD and a couple of token AGM-65s...

That concludes this venture into procrastination land...

What if the USAF went for the YF-17 instead of the F-16?

I'm no expert on USAF markings etc. but it would have looked something like this:

One more TSR.2, belonging to MFG 1 Wing of Marineflieger, circa 1988.

[ img ]

In real world, this wing had F-104G Starfighters. Total number of Starfighters owned by Marineflieger was 112. From these about 50 were given to Royal Hellenic Navy in early to mid 1980's and replaced by TSR.2, starting in mid 1980's. German TSR.2 were the last new British/Australian built airframes. The MFG 1 Wing replaced its F-104G with TSR.2 and dismantled in 1993, while MFG 2 replaced its F-104G with Tornado. When MFG 1 was dismantled in 1993, all remaining Marineflieger TSR.2 transferred to MFG 2. This wing also dismantled in 2005. Finally all German TSR.2 were grounded in 22 February 2014, ending the successful service of this aircraft. Luftwaffe TSR.2s fought in First Gulf War, in Afghanistan and in Operation Iraqi Freedom until 2010 when the new Federal Government decided to withdraw them. Luftwaffe took also several ex- Marineflieger units for spares in 2000's.

Looks nice, but as far as I know, in real world there was no "25th" (nor 26th) Wing (Marinefliegergeschwader) of Marineflieger - they were numbered 1 to 5 (with existence of 4th being relatively brief). There was a Marinefliegergeschwader 28, but it was unit of Volksmarine des Deutsches Demokratisches Republik - in other words of East German navy.
