Thanks for the feedback chaps. Tonight I am going to remove the crane and aft mast so it will have a similar layout to Jean D'Arc. Will repost it when done.

Okay folks, I have made some changes. Firstly I have removed the large crane and aft mast. The large crane has been replaced with a much smaller crane which is directly aft of the superstructure and is stowed in the beam position. Next, I have lengthened the superstructure to make it more balanced with the rest of the ship. The four forward bow thrusters have been replaced by two larger units. And lastly, I have redone the aft elevator to show it in action lowering a Seahawk down to hangar level.

I'd say that looks like perfection to me. I reckon this could hold around 7-8 Seahawks maximum in wartime. I'm not keen on the idea of adding a CIWS to this, but in wartime if its used to backup ASW coverage or for ship-to-shore supply then you might want to retrofit one. Really great work, all these AU ships are stunningly beautiful to look at.

When we will see an AU with your selections?

I think many people will like it, and I will be the first... ;-)

Unfortunetly its helpless against any air threat still :(

Perhaps don't mount CIWS but make a spot for later/needed fitting? If not CIWS how about some chaff/flares? Maybe Nulka?

I like it, but I feel like you might have swung too far in the other direction. It's very easy to imagine this sort of vessel in the Arabian Sea as the centerpiece of an anti-piracy task force. A few Mk 38 or similar would go a long way to improving the ship's utility in these sorts of minor war tasks, which post-1991 seem to be all too common.

Incidentally, I feel like your current bow thruster is... rather excessive.

I agree with erik, typhoons, mini-typhoons, and various manned weapons would be options as well.

Should I ditch the RAM Launchers and revert back to Typhoons?
