The Mirage 4000 was designed back in 1970's together with the 2000.French goverment decided to fund the smaller 2000 and the 4000 prototype funded by Dassault own sources. The M4k is equivalent with F-15A in speed and load, Dassault tried to export it but the problem was that it was not purchased by French Air Force.

Personally is one of my favorit aircrafts and I would like to see it in Hellenic Air Force camo (in F-16 camo,M2000 camo and A-7H camo). It could also be used as a bomber (thanks to 8.5tn load) and I thought of use this instead of the Mirage IV.

Nice Mirage 4000. I've always though this was one Dassaut that should have been produced, but then Dassault never had any real success with larger twin-engine fighters.

Much the same can be said about their smaller twin engined fighter still...

That's actually where the problem is since the US and McD-D were able to aggressively market (and apply diplomatic pressure) in favor of the F-15 in the name of freedom and 'murica. The best chance of the M4k getting sales was to market a multi-role ability - if people were even interested back then (attitudes about tac-air have shifted greatly since).

Well the M4k ultimately became a very, very early prototype for the Rafale which is seeing some sales success at least, so....

Wow, love the Mirage 4K! Think an RAF joint-production variant with Hawker Siddeley might have to appear soon...

Hello again!

Edited the nose shape (on photoes it is very slightly bulged on the downside too). Armed and coloured versions to follow in the AU thread.

Greetings

Good idea to draw the 4000, I remember the splendid desert livery she sports for the failed Saudi contract.
