I had an old hull sitting in my shipyard folder and I thought I would resurrect it as a Multi-Role Vessel (MRV) for the Royal New Zealand Navy. This type can be used for amphibious operations, disaster relief, NZ EEZ enforcement and sea training for officers and non-commissioned officers. The class is fully compatible with RAN surface units and is intended to work in tandem with them in the greater Australasian area.

Very nice design!

Hull comes from the HMAS David Martin?

Certainly does. I was not overly happy or satisfied with the David Martin design so a complete rethink was required. I am going to reuse the David Martin (named after the late RADM Sir David Martin) name for an aircraft carrier based on the Thai carrier HTMS Chakri Naruebet. This one will be a kitbash though as I love the design of the New Holstein Class by Shiplover & MConrads.

Oh, and thanks for the feedback.

interesting design.
I always wondered given some of the stuff I've read on the RNZN if their politicians would be happier not having frigates at all but Corvettes or enhanced OPV's. Did think about the Dutch Hollands or Sigma's for the RNZN.
