I've seen that picture earlier... if I remember correctly you can find it in the Fuso chapter of Linkory Vtoroj Mirovoj. A very cool picture indeed, I've always liked the Pagoda conning towers. :mrgreen:

Actually the black smoke from the engine is a result of the water injection for boosting power for takeoff combined with the Rocket packs installed in the aft fuselage sides to accelerate climb performance.

Reminds me of this demotivational poster I made a while ago;
