Dornier Do 24 in French Service

With the fall of France, French industry was co-opted for German use, and the SCAN facilities at Sartrouville were tasked with the construction of the Dornier Do 24 T-1.

During the war approximately 48 aircraft were produced, and all sent to the Luftwaffe. After the Liberation production was resumed, and about a further 40 aircraft were constructed for French service, in the reconsituted AéroNavale. The first aircraft entered service just before Christmas 1944 to supplement the remaining pre-war seaplanes of Flottile 9Ftr at Saint Mandrier.
The French aircraft were not fitted with dorsal turrets, instead a radar operators position was located in that location in the fuselage covered with a hatch.
The aircraft were withdrawn from service in 1953, and all had been scrapped by 1954.

EKW C-35

From licence producing the Fokker CV, EKW further developed the design as the first part of the Swiss air force pre-war upgrade programme.

The first prototypes flew in 1935, and production commenced soon after, with 88 aircraft having been built by 1937. The aircraft were a short-term commitment, with the more sophisticated C-36 designed to take over the role from the early 1940's. The aircraft were used for border patrol with the start of WWII, and the first Swiss air force casualty was a C-35 shot down by German fighters. To supplement the numbers, 8 aircraft were assembled from stockpiled spares.
By 1943 the aircraft had been replaced by C-36-series aircraft in day units, but continued until 1954 in night units as as squadron hacks.

Excellent additions, lovely to see the relatively unknown C-35.
