Praying to all that is holy that the link works...
A first for posting a new thread in a few years. What is this all about?
Well... On another forum, I found someone who'd kindly made and shared a Drive folder with various Swedish Never Weres. Getting a good look on the Tre Kronor armoured cruiser, I started fiddling with the idea of how she might've looked like a heavy cruiser instead(Because... heavy cruisers. I have a shrine for them.). Being a Swedish vessel, she would obviously ship 21 cm.(8,3") guns - of which there are eight - rather than "pure" 8" guns. Rather than twelve 12 cm.(4.7") DP guns, I settled for eight. She'd roughly follow the armour scheme of the Tre Kronor armoured cruiser, with 125 mm(4.9") sides and 60 mm(2.4") deck. Turret fronts reduced to 200 mm(7.9"), and the conning tower to 150 mm(5.9"). Looking at the faster of the heavier NWs of the RSwN, I decided on a rather modest top speed of 29 knots, and a range equal to the real life Tre Kronor class light cruisers. The closest contemporary design of the RSwN I could find also had a crane aft for a single Hawker Osprey(no catapult), so I decided to follow point. She landed at some 9 700 tonnes at standard displacement.
Deffinately one of my barer drawings, and could probably use some polishing, but I wanted to post it nonetheless.

Doubtless bigger and more expensive than the what Swedish government would be willing to approve, but a fun thought excercise for myself. Probably one of the centerpieces if I ever feel like making a Baltic Mare Suecia AU.
