I have decided to join in on the current Royal Navy battleship joy fest. My contribution, though a personal design based on CanisD`s Queen Victoria from here: http://wolfsshipyard.com/Misc/WolfsDen/ ... /queen.htm

I have taken some liberties, changin a few things here and there to make it slightly more unique.

Looks good Karle94, but I think the propellers are a little small, for a ship this size.

It`s the same propellers as the Courageous Class. Those are actually bigger than the ones on the QE and Revenge classes. Not as much paddle like as the QE, but larger nonetheless.

looking forward to this one 8-) .

Would they get modernized, and if so would they keep the turrets or lose one and gain speed ?

JSB

add - is that bow likely that early ?

Perhaps some gets completely rebuilt ala QE/Valiant and Warspite, and others merely get refitted ala Barham/Malaya.

I wonder a bit how you get another turret and another knot of speed with less power and a longer hull, on the same dispacement. (using canisD's specs)
also, where does the turbine room go? you should have about the same machinery as the QE class, but I do not see space for it on this design.
that said, it is interesting, but it just looks cramped right now.

The bow looks 'unbritish' to me compare to other british BB or BC from the same periode.

The bow is inspired by the Hood.

Hood is much later not in time but in war experience and speed so unless its a later rebuild its unlikely ?

I could remove the turret, and increase the ship complement three fold. Or make her slightly longer, perhaps even a little wider to make more space for all necessery machinery, so it won`t be very cramped.
