Hi guys I'm trying to start all over and I bring to you guys my current projects. I have a BC a CA(or a CL?) and a CVL. The BC was a old project still waiting some details to being finished. And we have the CA(CL?) a recent project along with the CVL. CA:I believe it's already 85% finished because it need some little details and the shading... CVL:It's the most recent project. It's inspired on the BB1987's Shimane Maru but i'm trying to make more unique to don't need to credit, but the smokestack was very hard to draw so I used the smokestack from the Soryu and adapt to my CVL and I think its necessary credit BB1987. If you guys have any idea or any suggestion I will consider, and every part of those three ships I can change if there's any problem. |

as you got in the PM: - doors - hatch - ventilation - pipes - moorings - caskets and rollers/drums for storage of ropes on deck. - fire hose - lifeboats - commander boats - personnel boats - shading - support to overhang. for example on funnel - wires from mast, some of them are VHF wires/antennas - radar of that time period - spotting top - binoculars - props - spread windows a bit more out. (Think on where you think crew compartments are, mess halls, etc. areas that need windows. But engine room and magazine don't need any window.) - where are the coolant water to the powerplant coming from... - where are the coolant water coming out. (often some openings above water line. - hull depth markings, and other type of markings. - class Number (like BB56 or BC48 etc.) - small signal and spotting light. - large spotting lights. - bridge wings. - oh remember to have 18 px deck height for full deck height. at the moment. your bridge/conning tower looks like its only 7-8 px heigh! (tips. mark bridge height with an line of an different color that you can remove later. - and many more. - note. conning tower, on the big one. why have windows 3-4 px from each other in height. No ships in the world have that. (Remember the conning tower is to protect the admiral, to many window ...) |

Hello Biancini! Heuhen has already pointed out most of the things needed. A few more: - No 2pdr quad pompoms on funnel sponsons. These things are huge, the funnel would probably fall down. And there's no way to supply them with ammo up there. - The battleship has an awfully short forecastle. Acceptable on pre-WWI designs, but unlikely for the 1930s. The forward main turret crew is likely to be wet all the time. Freeboard on the other hand is very high, especially aft, which is not so good for stability. Maybe use more sheer forward to get the bow to the same height, and cut a little freeboard aft. - I'd use higher masts (not much, but more than at present). - leave some room on the CVS for boats; real ones did not have so many AA gun platforms. - The CVS could use a little more freeboard (after all, it is likely a converted Merchant hull, with the funnel so far aft) and more hangar height (check against the planes you want to use and allow room for overhead structure supporting the flight deck). Otherwise I like the basic shape of the CVS. Maybe I borrow it for a Thiarian ship. - you seem to use two differend types of light AA (20mm twins and 12,7mm quads). I would assume these were not present at the same time - maybe use the 12,7mm quads at the time of commissioning (and not too many of them, light AA was quite underappreciated in the 30s) and the 20mm after later refits, and then more of them. - The cranes look anachronistic, 1910s/20s like. Newer-fashioned ones might be a good Idea. - On real ships, portholes were rarely as symmetrical. Greetings GD |

Biancini I did not draw Soryu it's a PomoboCZ drawing, I'm credited too because he used some parts from my proto-Soryu drawings but the funnel was not one of them. So, if you eventually have to credit someone it's him and not me |

Hi Biancini, One thing that really helped me was a line drawing Redhorse did in the last month or so (I've just tried to find it, to no avail) - breaking the first couple of decks into officer's staterooms, galley, workshops and the like. That really helped me to see why particular portholes are in a particular place and, more usefully, why there aren't portholes in a particular spot... Regards, Adam |

Some info about the ships... Every ship here is designed to be comissioned im mid 30's. The BC I wanted to be have the normal layout of the late 30's due Imperial Japanese Navy Rise... The CVL is inspired on the Japanese CVLs but my CVLs wasn't to be a transport ship and then be reffited into a CVL like the IJN ones, they were the firsts late 20's and early 30's ships to be originally a aircraft carrier. |
