I have just finished my design for the Condamine Class FFG (modified Murrumbidgee Class). This class is more of an AAW configured frigate rather than the Murrumbidgee Class which is more multi-role.

I know these are based on the Spanish Belares class which in turn is an AAW version of the Knox, but if I were to do a more extensive redesign of these from scratch I'd just delete the helicopter hanger all together. It's severely limiting the firing arc of the Mk 13 which just bugs me.

It could also be said that it is based on the USN Brooke Class crossed with the Knox class, the Mk. 22 on the Baleares Class is mounted on where the helipad is on the Knox Class.

Nice work!
I agree with Klagldsf that as an AAW ship it is somewhat limited with only one dedicated director and the Mk.13 positioned where it is, but I can't think of what could be done about it without removing the hanger...
Keep the drawings coming :)

I have decided to go a different route with this design.

I think second design is better, beacause the Mk13 has much greater fire arc.But I think the positions of the Mk29 and the OTO Melara should be exchanged, since Comdamine Class has the same drawback with O.H Perry:Lack of gun in bow.

First design eliminates this drawback by having a Mk42 front, but the Mk13 has limited fire arc.Perhaps a cross between two designs (if it is possible) is the best solution.

Perhaps I'm just weird, but I believe I like the first design better. But they both look good.

Here are some more changes - I think this is a more balanced platform.
