Post subject: | Battleship Prometheus |
I designed a battleship to include some of the better ideas from several battleships into one battleship. The ship does not belong to any nation, yet. The result is the Prometheus. She is armed with 12x14 inch guns in six twin turrets. The secondaries are 14x6 inch casemate guns. The ship is 215,65 meters w/l, and 219,46 meters o/a. She is 32 meters wide, with narrow bow and stern, but wide midship. She is designed for a top speed of 26 knots, but rarely exceeded 24,5 knots. She has an armored belt that is 12,5 inches thick, and 4 inches of deck armor. I will add lifeboats after thinking over what is best; Japanese, British or American lifeboats. |

I seriously doubt those aft turrets are going to work, especially if the stern is as narrow as you imply. |

It is not as narrow as the American low-angle V hull shape, but more as in narrow for a battleship of that size. The gap between the pairs are for a future tripod mast ala Arkansas. |

My only issue with the report would be the armour for the main turrets, all the more since she looks rather Japanese influenced. 18" at the time doesn't feel believable. Maybe 15", but more likely 13-14". |
