Today we are going to find the limit.

BTW: this is not a finally drawing, .... and I think she will have the same stability issue that many US cruisers had in that era. But her size alone compensate for that ... almost, but she is going to have ballast in the keel!

Reactors in US ships were placed in a unit configuration with both fore and aft reactor spaces, and I may have entered some data into Springsharp wrong.

Yes, sorry for not being clear. If you look at top views of the hulk that was Long Beach you can see the reactor hatches - one was fore of the main bridge structure, and one was aft.

Same with the ex-DLGNs. On the Californias, No. 1 Reactor was under the ASROC launcher and No.2 was between the masts. It allowed for auxillary machinery rooms on either side.

the 2 reactor rooms also give better damage control, due to the 2 of them not being in the same compartment.

wondering a few things though:
-why mk 22 and not 13?
-what ciws is that? and was ciws even used back then?
-watch out with the missile guidance, not all work the same way

I believe the CIWSto be Oto Melara single or double 30mm mounts which IIRC are early seventies vintage.

Working on changing the layout at the moment!

Mostly because space, but if you think a mk-13 fit, then I use it (bigger magazine is always good)

Have you forgotten that I posted this in you'r bellow deck part-sheet:

The conclusion we come to is that it is as correct as it can be, due to conflicting data from different sources.

I am going to have 8 separate guidance for the MK-10, The MK-13/22 will have they own, 5" will have they own. But the 30 mm I am wondering about using the Sea Cobra version (SC) because it have it own guidance build on the turret roof.
