Well, I'd chop it up into compartments of reasonable size, first of all. Then I'd jigger things around until you were happy with where deckhouse boundaries, uptakes, etc ended up.

Hm! yes you gave me an idea now. if everything is in compartments with standard placement of engines. Then we can have one standard ship, with several layout. it could perhaps cut down cost overall.

for placement of equipment and sizes and so on:

- Hangar, perhaps around 5 to 10 meter longer than the helicopter and 1-2 meter beamier than the helicopter.
- Gas turbine, single one placed bellow Hangar a little in front of it. with funnel on top. like OHP-class. (They would have either one or two possible standard placement. close to hangar or close to center weapon deck)
- diesel generators placed on the line of the back side of bridge area. funnel behind mast. (standard placement on all designs)
- A standard layout of center weapon deck. that can at building be placed there you want it to be.
- all weapon area are build in similar fashion to the flex system.
- standard bridge and CIC layout over all the various designs.
- version with flex deck capable to take small cars etc. have an higher hull then rest.
- 1 ship type 4 different ways to build it.

the example below have:

aft:
- hangar
- small flex deck
- aft engine room and ruder.
- torpedo

center:
- center weapon deck (flex deck)
- generator

bow:
- gun/missile
- missile/flex
- bridge
- CIC
- sonar
- radar

Did'n manage to get some sleep, neighbors having a party. so I decide to dig a bit on an old folder of scrap, and found this one. all I had to do was:

- replace some colors.
- edit some color errors.
- replace old parts with new parts.
- fixing pixel errors.

didn't bother on fixing on radars and so on... to tired. so stability can be a bit whopsy! I going to put it in an template tomorrow.

Armament:
- if I remember correct, my original idea for the vessel was two 76 mm on both side of the hull so far out as possible on the forward deck.
- I think I had also two 40 mm on the aft deck.
- she have torpedo tubes.
- full size VLS, can't remember which version I did go for, but I have armed her more as an outer layer defense ship for an carrier fleet. But originally designed as an all in one ship.

Found one of my older drawing, found it interesting. so I started to play with it. But can't get it to work.

things i can do:

- move the bridge bellow the radar system.
- move superstructure and VLS more forward, (there are space. but weight...)
- replace 3xMT30 with 3xLM2500+ and have rest on diesel..

now give me some ideas boys!

Oh ace... if this one was to use Dutch/France system how do you think it would be/placed/use/sink!

You're going to have an absolutely awful time removing and replacing those gas turbines (be they MT30 or LM2500) when the time comes.

She is attractive, in a sort of a dopey Kirov-ish way. Why do you have all of the SATCOM domes, when you've got fixed-face phased arrays for that? Likewise, why not shift to phased array illuminators and navigation radar? I think a modified Imast atop the superstructure would do quite nicely.

thanks Erik-T

the engines.

one way to remove them:

aft engine room: could be trough an hatch in front of the hangar.
forward engine room: up and trough the RHIB bay, using the RHIB crane fro that.

Long bows are just sexy.

So is the term Battle Cruiser, which this should be called :)

In all honesty though it looks a bit air warfare focused so I'd go with cruiser. Especially since it looks to be quite a bit bigger than the "destroyers" of most navies.
