If it is a submarine thread like the one in the old forum, then here is my contribution

HMS X-1 a cruiser submarine built in 1921 and after a troublesome career was scrapped in 1932

More submarines

The River class submarines were an attempt by the RN to produce a true fleet-submarine, one who can keep up with the main battlefleet and scout ahead.
Unfortunetly the top speed of these submarines was 22Kts, not enough to keep-up with the fleet and so only three were built.

I really like submarine illustrations - they show certain aspects
that plans and photos can not. Has anyone else noted the
resemblance between some Royal Navy subs, the Type VII
U-Boats, and the USN Gato class subs?

They have similar function and of course there would be similarities in design, and so the design is greatly influenced by function.
