Amazing work, excellent thread with very superb drawings. Shipbucket at its best.

Hi GD,

I've kind of run out of superlatives by now, so you'll just have to trust me that "meeting your usual standard" is a high compliment indeed!

Hello again!

The 900-tonnes-class: Enseigne Roux, Mecanicien Principal Lestin and Enseigne Gabolde

The final french pre-war destroyer design to be commissioned before the first world war ended all warship production except sloops and a few submarines. Apart from being bigger and likely more seaworthy, the Roux-class offered little improvement from their predecessors. Only two were finished to the original design; both looked like this when they commissioned in 1915:

Modifications during the war also were simliar to the older 800-tonners:

The third ship was laid up incomplete for the duration of the war and finished in 1923 to a thoroughly revised design, with a third 100mm gun replacing the four useless 65mm pieces and torpedo calibre increased to 550mm. The third gun was mounted forward, superfiring the first on a large bridge structure for such a small ship; Gabolde was every bit as overloaded as she looked and was considered a poor sea boat.

@ Waritem: I tried. Did not work. Lack of talent, probably.
@ everybody: Many thanks for the praise!

Greetings
GD

Great. Really great. So, now only two classes are left. Aventurier and Arabe Class. Do you already plan what comes next? I would be glad if you would continue with the pre-I.WW destroyer from other major countries, like UK, Germany, Italy, or Russia. :)
