It doesn't look like the rear launcher SSMs would clear the AK-726 mounts(especially the two lower launch tubes).

Hmm, isn't that a similar approach to what Gerald Bull would do with his ERFB projectiles? The ERFB projectiles don't have the mid-projectile ribs, though, just the base fins, if I recall correctly.
